In the piece titled "One Marine's Dying Wish", Frank Bruni shines a somber light on Hal Faulkners many struggles in life. As this man's life is coming to an end, he is still, in Franks words, "haunted" by the dishonorable discharge served to him by the Marines. Frank appears to have written this article to provide some light at the end of the tunnel for many "dishonorably discharged" soldiers. Many people who might be interested in this article are people who have experienced the same situation and/ or those who have a card in the constant war surrounding homosexuality which is currently a very controversial subject. Frank seems to have taken this piece to heart not only showing the major issue but he has focused on the man who has been struggling with this issue and the secrecy that has come with it.
